A fun Performing Arts class filled with acting, singing and dance for children in Reception and Year 1.

Course Highlights -

-Ending in a performance each term.

Our Infant sessions are a fantastic introduction to the world of Performing Arts.
Children aged 4 to 6 years attend a session each week learning the technique of each subject in a fun structured class with an exciting performance for family and friends at the end of each term.
Working towards the International Dance Rewards Badge Scheme and group LAMDA exams.

Our Performing Arts Class Structure -

Circle Time with Share Bear

To encourage confidence and public speaking every session session starts with a fun circle time.

Children pass our share bear around the circle and are encouraged to tell our bear or the group (if they are feeling confident) anything that has happened or is happening in their busy lives!

This is a great way for us to focus the children's energy at the start of the class and for them to find their voice in a none pressured environment.

DANCE:

After the children have shared their experiences it's time to get up and dance!

Warm Up

The children warm up to a familiar upbeat song using simple stretches, balances and cardio.

Technique

Next it's time for a fun game thinking about how our bodies move and learning a new skill such as balancing, names of body parts or some simple dance techniques.

Routine

To end our dance session children learn a new section of their dance routine each week which they will go on to perform at the end of term. Finishing with a water break.

SINGING:

We then move onto our singing section of the class.

Warm Up

We have many fun singing warm ups to encourage the children to explore and use all parts of their voices which the group love.

Technique

In our singing technique section we encourage the children to think about rhythm, vocal sounds, pitch and projection. Through fun vocal games and exercises we help the children to enjoy their voices and build their confidence in singing.

Performance Piece

Now the children's voice's are warmed up and they understand some of the mechanics it's onto learning our presentation song, adding actions and staging to the piece so they can performing confidently in their end of term presentation.

DRAMA:

After a small snack break it's time for some drama!

Warm Up

Always a favorite with our classes our incredibly fun warm ups and games are designed to build each child's energy and confidence in a channeled controlled environment.

Technique

Once we've got the group's energy and confidence up we're on to team work!

Our drama technique section is all about encouraging positive relationships and helping the children to work in a group dynamic. We explore characters, physicality, voices and more.

Performance Piece

As with our other sections we finish our drama class with a performance piece we are working on. This could be a poem, scenes from a well know fairytale, book or movie and even a full musical production.

Finally, it's back to the circle for a well earned sticker and then home time.
