Autumn Term:
Laying the Foundation & Lights, Camera, Action!

The Autumn Term kicks off with a strong focus on strengthening essential techniques across all classes. Just before the half-term break, a buzz of excitement begins as we introduce the Spring Term musical! Children start working on the singing and dance numbers, seamlessly integrating this into their ongoing technical training.

Spring Term:
Bringing Stories to Life on Stage!

The Spring Term is dedicated to the thrilling journey of bringing our chosen musical to life! Children continue to develop the musical in all classes, adding the crucial script and acting elements. They finalise songs, staging, and choreography, working collaboratively towards a captivating end-of-term performance. This culminates in a magical show performed at our very own in-house theatre, giving students invaluable stage experience.

Summer Term:
Qualifications, Showcases & Grand Finales!

The Summer Term is packed with exciting opportunities for both qualification and grand performances!

> LAMDA Examinations: In drama, children work towards their group LAMDA exams. We strategically alternate between Acting and Musical Theatre exams each year, allowing students to systematically build up their grades and qualifications – a nationally recognised and highly respected achievement in the performing arts.
> Summer Showcase Preparation: In singing and dance classes, the focus shifts to rehearsing dynamic numbers for our much-anticipated Summer Showcase. This spectacular event takes place in a large-scale theatre, offering students the thrill of performing on a professional stage while still refining their core techniques.

The academic year culminates in a truly special End of Year Showcase, where our Junior students, along with their Senior and Infants pupils, take to the stage together. This grand event is a celebration of the year's achievements, featuring performances of popular numbers from their Spring musical, and the debut of exciting new pieces developed during the Summer Term.

Joining the Freedom Academy Family:
Practical Details

We believe access to quality performing arts education should be available to all. Parents sign up per term, with the cost conveniently divided into 12 monthly instalments. We are proud to offer a 10% discount for all additional siblings and a dedicated low-income rate – please enquire directly if you feel this may apply to you. A notice period of 4 weeks prior to the new term commencing is required.

Students are required to wear the Freedom Academy class T-shirt, black jazz shoes, and Freedom Academy branded or plain black leggings, joggers, and a hoodie, ensuring comfort and a unified appearance.

Upon joining any of our infant, junior, or senior schools, a one-off yearly membership fee of £25 is charged. This valuable fee includes your child’s Freedom Academy class T-shirt, entitles them to a 10% discount on Freedom Academy parties, holiday camps, and industry workshops, and allows them to book onto any additional classes of 1 hour or under for just £5 per session.
